A Little Outside the Norm

Got set up to do the '09 wine labels for a hobbyist winery called Tretheway.  Less illustration, more graphic design for a change.

An Introduction

Hello everybody this is my first official blog post and and I am very happy to make an introduction of myself as well as the works I create.

Firstly, my name is Steven, I'm in my last semester at Cal State Fullerton working towards a Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration.  I am 23 years old, and have spent enough time in college and am ready to begin creating art as a professional.  I love music and exploring new things within the musical world whether it be by playing an instrument or by listening to a new artist. I attribute music to being a part of what drives me to keep creating new works and it regularly inspires new ideas.

The work I create generally biases towards dry media such as graphite (pencil), conte crayons, oil pastels, etc... However, you will see occasional work with digital, ink, watercolor, and oil.  There will often be mixing off all the previously mentioned medium as my illustrations progress.  I really try not to create limitations on what kind of work I can and cannot do.  I love all kinds of art and strive to broaden my range of abilities, for example: in addition to any formal illustration I enjoy creating; pinstriping, airbrushing, stencil art, as well as woodworking are also hobbies of mine that will influence my illustrations.

Soon I will post images of various past works as well as a few new ones, just to give you an image to go with the descriptions.  If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask! Thanks for checking out my stuff, and check back for more!
